A common condition caused by the inflammation of fluid containing layer between bones and soft tissue that serve as a cushion against friction. Symptoms range from local hip pain to groin, pain can be dull or achy to sharp and lacerating. Risk factors include stress injuries, arthritis, history of hip injuries. Diagnosis is made via history taking and physical examination. Treatment ranges from simple anti-inflammatory medications to steriod injections, to physical therapy to surgical removal of the Bursa layer.
